Prepping for “I do”: Bridal Shower

5 Aug

Phew! It has been one crazy, wedding-filled weekend!

As I alluded to on Friday, my mom was in town this weekend from Florida to celebrate my bridal shower. So we were up early on Saturday morning to hit up coffee (necessary), the farmers market, and some wedding-related errands before heading up to Stafford for the shower.

Now I have to admit, my bridesmaids really kept me in the dark about the shower. I had no idea what the theme was, who was coming, or what to expect. And of course, I HATE surprises, so it was stressing me out a little.

But in the end it was so much fun and so full of friends and family!

Although I have to admit, being the center of attention was extremely awkward for me. As outgoing as I am, I really am not a fan of being the focus of anything. Which meant that I spent the whole day making awkward faces that were caught on camera. Here are a bunch of pictures for proof:

Yea, I’m awkward.

Overall, the whole day was great and it was so much fun to get to spend time with some of my beautiful friends that I haven’t seen in awhile!

Even the food and decorations were wonderful! My bridesmaids went with a tropical theme, because Chris and I are going to be going to the Dominican Republic for our Honeymoon. Such a cute idea!

All in all I felt totally spoiled and pampered by my wonderful friends and family! Thank you so much ladies!

Sunday

Today has been equally filled with wedding related things, including 2 make-up trials (we had to split the girls in two groups and I did trials at both), wedding decoration shopping, and wedding shoe shopping. I was so busy that I really didn’t even have time to take any pictures! Blogger fail.

Now I’m off to spend the rest of the evening (and by that I mean the next hour and a half before I crash) recovering from this weekend and watching the Olympics.

So tell me: What did you do this weekend?

Somehow I never realized you guys were going to the Dominican Republic! Where are you staying? I have been to Punta Cana twice and LOVED it.

We’re staying at an all-inclusive resort in Samana. It’s in the little awkward hand that sticks out of the DR, more north of Punta Cana. I’m SUPER excited, because I’ve heard so many good things about the DR!

The bridal shower looks beautiful! And I love your dress!

My bridal shower was by far one of my favorite pre-wedding events!
