First off, yes I’m aware that it’s actually already 2013. Totes my fault.
Chris and I went to Georgia to spend a belated Christmas and New Years with his family, and I managed to totally forget to bring my computer. Womp womp. It’s a little difficult to blog from a Kindle, as much as I love the thing. So no blogging occurred (obviously, or you would have read it by now). Instead I spent an entire afternoon playing an epic game of gin rummy with Chris’ grandparents.
Old school style.
Also, I totally won Gin Rummy. Even with Chris’ grandfather trying to pull some voodoo whammy magic on me from across the table.
Anyway, in honor of the end of 2012, I thought I might do a nice little recap of the year. Especially since 2012 was a particularly good one for me.
So please enjoy this nice little scroll down memory lane…
I started a blog
Yup, the last day of January 2012 brought this lovely first post. Which is actually extremely embarrassing to re-read. So awkward!
I learned what it meant to be “Country”
I had the opportunity to visit a friend’s dairy farm and learned WAY more about cows then I ever thought I’d know in a lifetime. Plus I got to feed baby cows! Ahem, I mean CALVES. See, I’m country…
Watched several college friends get married
Chris and I travelled to see my graduate school friend Tasha get married in April.
And then to see my friend Jessica get married in October.
Ran the 3.2 for 32 race at Virginia Tech for the 4/16/07 anniversary
I was hit hard by the 5 year anniversary of the April 16 shooting, but Chris and I travelled down to Tech to remember with our fellow Hokies. And ran our first real 5K around our beloved campus.
Had many adventures
In 2012 I managed to go hiking in Blacksburg.
To an amusement park.
And Ziplining in Maryland.
Ran several 5K races
Including my PR at a local Culpeper winery and a very hilly 4th of July race.
Watched Christopher graduate from Virginia Tech
So proud of Chris for graduating with honors! Plus it was awesome to get to hear the First Lady speak at the ceremony!
Got spoiled at my bridal shower
So many presents! But such a great time with some of my favorite ladies!
Travelled to Pittsburgh for a football game
There are no words for this horrible game. But the company was awesome. I’m not sure how I feel about the city of Pittsburgh after this though…
Turned a quarter of a century old!
I officially joined the old people’s club and got spoiled for dinner at a fancy French restaurant.
GOT MARRIED!
Pretty sure this is self explanatory…
Travelled to the Dominican Republic on my Honeymoon
Hands down one of the best trips of my life! I still have MORE pictures for you all on this one!
Bought a house
One of the most stressful things I’ve ever done! No pictures yet since it’s not yet finished, but there will be some coming soon!
Bought a car
As if we didn’t make enough big purchases in November, we added another one in early December!
Chopped off my hair
After a year and a half of growing it out, I made the decision to get rid of it! And boy did it feel good!
Went to my first VA Bloggers Event
I overcame my nervousness and headed down to Richmond for my first ever VA Bloggers Event at the Local Barre studio. It was so much fun, I got to try something completely new, and I met a bunch of wonderful VA bloggers!
Celebrated our first Christmas as a married couple
I loved getting to start our own Christmas traditions! Including decorating the tree…
Whew, that was quite a year!
Here’s to hoping that 2013 brings just as many wonderful things!
So tell me: What is your favorite memory of 2012?
It looks like you had an amazing year, Stephanie! I’m so glad I’ve gotten to know you 🙂 I hope you have a wonderful 2013!
Me too! I’m glad I finally came to a blogger event!! I hope you have a wonderful 2013 as well!
What a fantastic year, Stephanie! Here’s to 2013 🙂
Cheers!
What a year! It’s so fun to look back. Happy New 2013!
It is definitely crazy to look back and see what happened in a year. That’s the wonderful thing about blogging – everything is documented! Happy 2013!
What a fun way to recap! I think I’d be overwhelmed trying to remember all that happened in 2012 but it’s so nice to be able to see everything in one place! Looks like a great year 🙂
Haha, not going to lie – this post seriously took a lot of time! So much happened in 2012, it was hard to even pick and choose events!
Wow! What a busy and monumental year you had 🙂 Hope 2013 is just as good to you!!
Thanks, I hope so too!! Happy 2013 to you as well!
