So I know this has been a LONG time coming, considering that I got married more than 6 months ago at this point, but since you all had such supportive things to say on our 6 month anniversary, I decided to go ahead and continue to share pictures from our special day. And hopefully I’ll be able to do it in a faster fashion in the next couple of weeks.
Please check out Part 1: Getting Ready, and Part 2: First Look and Portraits as well.
So today we’re going to talk about the ceremony. I had been a member of my church since I was born (and was both baptized and confirmed there), so it had always been a dream of mine to get married in that church. And luckily, Chris was extremely supportive of that.
During our ceremony, we really wanted to make sure to include things that were very important to both of us. We had both my long-time pastor AND Chris’ pastor officiate our ceremony, we had the bell choir (directed by my dad) play during the ceremony, my uncle played trumpet as we walked back down the aisle. We really tried to make our ceremony “us”.
(Isn’t our ring bearer the cutest little redhead ever?? He, along with our flower girl, were Chris’ little cousins.)
Our photographer was able to capture Chris’ brother trying to tell him to stop tearing up! Also, please look at the ring bearers face. He’s not so sure…
So tell me: Did you (or do you) dream of having your wedding in a certain place?
I’m going to have my wedding in the church I grew up in 🙂 Love church weddings! Great idea with the burlap bows and leaf decals on the ends of the pews!
Thanks!! I found the idea on Pinterest and then made my own spin on it!
That dress is gorgeous!
Thank you!!!
That looks beautiful!! And also I don’t think we’ve really seen the bridesmaids dresses until now (unless I am just forgetting). They are gorgeous!! I absolutely love the color choices you guys picked out. How pretty for fall! I also love that it was held in your family church. That’s awesome!
Thank you!! Our colors were a no brainer for us, because we knew we wanted to get married in the fall, and we’re basically obsessed with Virginia Tech. Marooon and Orange, duh!
